Our Story

Waldo Smith, owner of Waldo’s Lock & Security, LLC began his journey as a locksmith in the summer of 1994 at the tender age of 16 years old with his grandfather Waldo Smith, Sr.

What originally began as a hobby for Waldo Smith, Sr. became an official business after the Smith family business, Crescent Milling Co., closed its doors in 1987.

Sadly, in 2008, Waldo Sr. passed away, but he left behind a legacy that his grandson has continued to build upon.

For the two years following Waldo Sr.’s passing, Waldo III worked as the only employee with his grandmother, Maurine, who continued to maintain the paperwork aspects of the business.

On January 1, 2010, Waldo Smith III officially purchased the business from his grandmother and “took the reins” of running and operating it as his own company.

With nearly 30 years of knowledge and experience, Waldo’s Lock & Security, LLC has continued to grow and expand their locksmithing services to include to alarm systems, security cameras and access control panels.

Waldo Sr.’s hobby has grown into a business that employs individuals who are dedicated to providing a phenomenal level of service to every customer who is looking for reliable, honest and experienced locksmith services for Reidsville, Greensboro, Burlington, NC as well as Danville, VA and their surrounding areas.
